2025 Summer Field Lacrosse Starting Up July 2nd

Summer Field Lacrosse starts next week, Wednesday, July 2^nd and run until early August.  We may add some dates if we have to compensate for rainouts or kids are just having that much fun.  All games are at Willowdale Park, 200 Keewatin St S, Oshawa.  Your best bet is to park on Lorindale, which is the west side of the park.

I have divided the players into three cohorts based on age.  I will email you shortly with the cohort your player is with.  Because Chumash is designed to be challenging for the sake of developing player skills, I may ask a few of you if your player would be OK playing ‘up’ in an older cohort.  The idea is to keep the teams balanced and competitive by way of equal size and skill.

Our Chumash is non-contact, stick-check only.  This means:

• no bodychecking; emphasis is on correct positioning for both offense and defense situations
• two-hands on the stick for checking  with emphasis on smart defensive play &
• playing the ball on a ground ball with proper form

We also want to encourage players to play fair, play with good character, and be an example of our sport since there will be many interested observers coming through Willowdale Park.

Here is the schedule, which is subject to change to adjust for daylight hours in August if we need to.  For the first few events there will be a short instructional period before the games.  I want to make sure all players are aware of how Chumash is played and what sort of things players need to do when playing.
