Sad News...

It breaks my heart to have to report the loss of Jackie Smith-Vivian, who passed away at home yesterday, June 27th, in St. Johns, NL.  Thankfully, for the past few weeks, Jackie was surrounded by loving family and friends, and she was with Paul, Dakota & Malcolm yesterday at home.  Jackie's family was her world.

The Oshawa Blue Knights extended our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the Vivian family at this time.

Jackie was an extra special friend to the OBK.  She was here with Paul and Malcolm from the get-go.  Jackie's commitment to lacrosse, the medicine game, and the ideals of youth sport were second to none.  The Oshawa Blue Knights immeasurably benefited from her volunteer efforts, from Malcolm's rep teams, to City League, to the Braver Than Brave. Even when she was not directly involved, her ideas and advice were always helpful, positive, and forward-looking.  She understood what it took to develop and grow.  Jackie was a builder.

She made many good friends with us, and us with her.  She kept us in her heart even as she battled her toughest battles.  Jackie was one of a kind.  "For a good time call a Lax Mom!!"

We will miss Jackie greatly, but we will never forget her.
