OLA Release Procedures

*NEW* 2026 RELEASE POLICY - PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING A RELEASE FORM

Please send completed release requests to the OMLA President  after February 15th.  There is a $25 Player Release fee payable to OMLA prior to the release hearing.

Prior to any release request, the player must be registered with the association for the current year. The current year OLA ‘Release Request Form’ must be used in all cases where a player wishes to be released from his/her current Lacrosse association, to sign and play with another association. The Player, a Parent or Guardian must complete section 1 including all reasons and deliver it to the President of the association from which the release is requested, with a copy also being sent to the Zone Director.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE FROM THE OLA RULES AND REGULATIONS:

MR2.08(a)

A player resident in a community represented by a rep club entered in a category for which he is eligible to play, must register with that club except where such player’s services are waived by that club subject to the provisions of MR3.11.

NOTE: Any player who has not registered with their resident association by the following dates will be ineligible for a rep release. If a club folds a team for which the player would have been eligible, the player will not be eligible for a release under MR2.08(b).

Box: 3rd Sunday in March (March 15th in 2026)
Field: Sunday, March 1st
Women’s Field: 3rd Sunday in March (March 15th in 2026)

Fall Field: Saturday, August 15th

OMLA Refund/Cancellation Policy

All registrations carry a $25.00 non-refundable administration fee.

If you cancel your registration after the season starts: (for City League)

Registration Fee refunded less $25.00 administrative fee & less 10% per week of City League passed (pro-rated)

(there are no refunds after the 5th week of City League or for repeated disciplinary issues)

There is a $10 NSF charge for any returned cheques.

All registrations can be done on-line.  If you are registering a new player a copy of a birth certificate or health card must be uploaded along with the registration.  You must also have a valid email address.  If you have questions or problems with registration, please contact our club Registrar.
