President's Message 2020 Season - All Members

President's Message

The OMLA Executive would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all of the Essential Workers during the COVID-19 Pandemic. We recognize that the COVID-19 Pandemic has initiated some hard times for families in the City of Oshawa, the Province of Ontario, and our beautiful country but the world in its entirety.

I wanted to take a moment to update our members on where things stand as of right now.

As a club, we are in regular contact with the Ontario Lacrosse Association and know they are doing their part to gather the necessary information to be able to make decisions and provide fact-based directives to all of us as members.

We would like to reassure you all that we are looking at different contingency plans and remain committed to keeping our members informed as we are able to. These updates can be found on our website and are posted to our social media pages.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we try and navigate through these unprecedented times together, our Board of Directors is currently conferencing beyond the monthly standards to ensure that we make the necessary decisions following the direction of our governing body.

It has been decided that OMLA will be resuming as planned as soon as that direction is given from our Governing Body and the City of Oshawa Officials.

While the start date of our House league program has been postponed we encourage all members to stay ready with sticks in hand as Oshawa Minor Lacrosse will be ready with a program available to all players as soon as Social Distancing is no longer in effect and Facilities have once again become available.

Our Social Media Team is working hard to give you the upmost interaction. Help us to continue to grow the game and spread the word by sharing how you keep your stick in hand and grow the game we all love and adore. You can PM our Social Media pages direct with your thoughts, pictures, and videos and challenges.

Lastly, stay healthy, stay safe and continue to Lax On.

President
