2022 City League - That's A Wrap!

Oshawa City League Lacrosse wrapped up their season on Saturday with Championship Day winners U7 Paperweight West Side and U9/11 Super Tyke North Ridges.  Truth be told, every participant was a winner starting with our amazing Peanuts, City League Champs in their own right.  it is absolutely stunning to see this group pick the stick and learn to play!  Parents were a huge part of this program - there is nothing better than parents positively contributing to the child's sport.  THANK YOU PEANUT PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS, AUNTS, UNCLES, BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!  And a special thank you to Sarah, Jamie, Brian, Jack, and Regan for helping us make this happen.

We ran into some serious snags this year with regard to volunteers and refs on Championship Day, but the day went remarkable well because we had some parents step up and make it happen.  A HUGE thanks to Cody and Liam, Karly, and Jill.  Your work in the Activity Room was mind-saving!  And thank you to all the other parents who helped make the day work so well.  A special thanks to Jake and Sue for reffing on Saturday.  I know the feet hurt, but the heart was glowing.  You all should be proud as we proud to have you as part of our club - your club - your Oshawa Blue Knights!

Throughout the year we had some pretty excellent helpers with referees Owen, Brian, Jack, and Jacob taking care on the floor and Megan, Jailyn and Lasha taking care in the officials bench.  We are grateful to have you part of this year's wonderful experience - THANK YOU!

Finally, a small note of appreciation for Jill St. John who, in 2017, showed us what Championship Day could be.  We hope we built on the experience that she shared with us and will continue to build throughout the years.

Congratulations to all the players - you were all fun to watch learn our sport.  Keep in going, you can do it!

And thanks to Christine, Steph, Shana, Dan & Chris; Matt, Kurt, Chris, Ryan, Ron, Larry, Dylan, Tiffany - without volunteer coaches and trainers, running minor sports would not exist.

If anyone has any photos or videos they would like to share, we can post them to the website - thank you!

And finally, we are planning additional programs and hopefully we'll have some word on a Fall Ball 6v6 field lacrosse season soon.  In the meantime HAVE A GREAT SUMMER AND GO OBK GO!
